S.A.M. Monthly Meetings
The Sacramento Area Modelers Club meets on the
2nd Thursday of every month in the old S.M.U.D. Customer Service Building located at 6201 S Street.
At times the meeting is held at the SAM Air Park flying
site. Check the main page often for special announcements.
Meetings start at 7:30pm and will usually last until about 9, sometimes they are longer, but mostly they are shorter.
The first order of business is introducing and welcoming visitors, guests, and new members, after which the usual reports are given by various board members and committee chairmen.
After all business is taken care of, there is a 10 or 15 minute break after which we have a SHOW-N-TELL segment. Members are encouraged to bring in planes they are building or have completed, and show the members present.
The last item of business is the LOTTO. Every member of S.A.M. has his or her name typed out on a slip of paper. These slips of paper are kept in a jar, and at every meeting, ONE name is drawn. If the person whose name appears on the slip of paper which is drawn is at the meeting, they win the LOTTO. The amount varies, and is started at $25. Every month that passes and the winner is NOT present, the LOTTO rolls over until the next month, at which time another $25 is added. The amount can build until a winner is present.
